National Service Personnel at GhIPSS, supported by some staff members, stepped in to help ease that burden, donating GHS 80,000 in cash and essential items to the Children’s Ward of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The donation forms part of an annual initiative led by GhIPSS National Service Personnel to support communities and give back during their period of service.
The cash donation was used to settle the outstanding hospital bills of 29 patients who had recovered and were ready to be discharged. The support helped remove a financial barrier for these families and enabled the patients to return home. The team also donated essential items to more than 69 children and their mothers and spent time with families in the ward.
Representatives of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital received the donation and expressed their appreciation for the support.
For the National Service Personnel, the initiative offered an opportunity to translate their commitment to service into practical support for children and families at a time when it mattered most.
