Central Bank of Liberia Governor Leads Delegation for Visit to GhIPSS

The Governor of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL), Mr. Henry F. Saamoi along with a high-level delegation, paid a visit to Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Ltd. (GhIPSS). The visit was centered on exploring the latest advancements in payment systems and technology, as well as gaining insights into the successful implementation of innovative solutions in the payment industry.

Over the years, GhIPSS has established itself as a leader in advancing payment systems within the African region, with particular focus on promoting financial inclusion, ensuring secure, efficient and accessible payment services.

During the visit, the CEO of GhIPSS, Archie Hesse had discussions about the transformative role of robust payment systems in modern economies. He added that GhIPSS has implemented innovative technologies, which have revolutionized the way financial transactions are managed across the region. “The integration of cutting-edge infrastructure has enabled faster, safer, and more inclusive financial services for a wide range of individuals and businesses in Ghana,” he said.

For the Central Bank of Liberia, this visit provided an opportunity to understand the operational strategies behind GhIPSS’s success and how similar solutions could be adopted to strengthen Liberia’s payment systems. The discussions also highlighted the potential for collaboration between the two institutions to drive further innovation and enhance cross-border financial networks within West Africa.
